Winding through Middlesex and Windham counties, this 21-mile trail rates at the top of any cycling list. Stretching along the former railway that ran between Boston and New York, this scenic cycling journey epitomizes the New England country scape. Named for the imaginary line drawn between Boston and New York that made it appear “in the air,” this wide, crushed stone path offers adventure for every age and ability.
This 56-mile ride journeys from New Haven to Suffield and runs almost the entire length of the state, as one of the most extensive bike routes in New England. This ride offers cyclists a glimpse into the versatility of Connecticut. From college campuses to quaint towns, local restaurants, vast lakes, and beautiful state parks, this ride will take you through everything the state has to offer. The northern section of the trail is less paved, so be sure you plan your adventure ahead of time.
