Fundraising Toolkit

Your support means the world to us, and to the families and individuals you ride for. We've built this guide to help you make the biggest impact that your support can achieve.

STEP ONE:
FIND YOUR "WHY"

We all know someone in our community who has been affected by cancer. Whether it be a friend, family member, or even yourself, it’s important we are able to support these individuals in their recovery.

Your "Why" is your personal mission statement – it tells potential donors what the CT Challenge ride means to you. Whether you're riding for yourself, a loved one, or the community at large, let people know exactly where your heart's at, and where your ride is sending support.

Step Two: Raise Funds

Social Media

Make it Personal!

Putting a face to a name helps donors feel connected to you. Be sure to update your Rider Profile so your donors can see the rider behind your social posts!

Step Two: Raise Funds

Social Media

Promote your Journey

Posting about your Ride throughout the journey can clarify the timeline for your donors. Space out your emails and social media posts to promote the different stages of your ride and keep donors and friends engaged throughout the year:

  1. When you first sign up: Scream from the rooftops that you committed to ride and why.
  2. As you train: Tell your friends and family how they can support your goals and join your team.
  3. After the ride: Share your experience with everyone you know! *Remember that you can still fundraise until October 15, 2024.

Step Two: Raise Funds

Reach Out to Past Donors

Those who have donated to your ride in the past likely want to continue to support your goal! Reach out to them directly. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your personal fundraising page.
  2. Top left, click "Messages"
  3. Drop down, click "Compose a Message"
  4. Scroll down to "#2 - Select Contacts"
  5. Drop down, click "Contacts Who Have Donated to You in Past Events"
  6. Click "Add Contacts" - they will load automatically.

Step Two: Raise Funds

After the Ride

The ride date isn’t the end of our fundraising stretch for the year! Share a brief story about your ride, and remind people that there’s still plenty of time to donate - the cutoff date for 2024 donations is October 15th.

Step Three: Get Biking!

The CT Challenge ride takes place on July 27th, 2024. All routes start and end at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824. The routes begin at different times in the morning, so be sure to double-check your route's starting time!

Ensure that you're ready to ride with our specialized training tips, and make sure you know how to get to our starting line. Once you're all set and ready to go, we'll see you there.
